First of all, thanks for your response to my last piece on Can careers and babies ever mix?, especially those who shared, commented or messaged me directly.
This is really helpful, thinking about time and energy. I have just discovered the Cherry Pick app for meal planning and shopping, it has made a huge difference to our week!
I loved this so much. Totally burnt out working parent carer here. Turns out I’m doing most of these already which made me feel like I am WINNING on a day that made me feel like I’m losing 😂
I, too, have a subscription from Who Gives a Crap; for years now. And you’re not wrong-we have rolls stashed in every cabinet in the house! I think they actually multiply!
1. Beauty supplies in family bathroom. Better light and also easier to do my routine while my daughter brushes teeth or takes a bath.
2. Bday Gifts - I think I am just going to buy 10 $25 gift cards to the bookstore or neighborhood ice cream place. The cards piece is interesting and I should probably have those in my back pocket as well.
As someone who is about to go back to work after mat leave, this is very very helpful - the skincare bag in particular! I’ve recently discovered the term ‘side quests’ which I think is probably a rehash of chores.
Amazing list. I really need to ditch the “every meal is an adventure 🤡” mindset and adapt the house meal. Totally agree that it’s worth paying for home delivery/pickup. Also planning in thing immediately. Just schedule it and think of it no more.
Oh life admin and jobs! I have a 4 month old and if I’m not looking after them, I’m catching up on the jobs! 🤯😮💨 Gone is time to do anything else/ fun 🙈
I put my bedtime skin care routine in the kids bathroom and it’s changed my life. No really. They play in the bath, I bathe my face. It’s glorious.
So simple, yet effective!
Me too!

Have downloaded! Thank you

I have literally just run out for the first time in living memory!
I am working to implement two things:
Yes! Also started a weekly planner that includes what’s for dinner so whenever is home can start it.
Good idea, I’m terrible at meal planning!
These are genius, thank you. I was considering using an AI assistant to make appointments for me but your idea is way more sensible!
Thank you. I wish I could say my life is seamless now…if only!
Life lifes way too much to be seamless but not having to go to the shop to buy toilet roll helps!
My top tip for kids birthdays - don't buy cards just write the name and who from on wrapping paper with a felt tip pen...
You know what, my daughter's party was last week and a few people did this - I was like oooh these people are smart! Will be doing the same
No cards here; our kids draw a pic for the birthday kid (with zero supervision from me).

So many great ideas and some things I’m already doing that’s good to recognize 👏🏼👏🏼

Yes 100% know how you feel. I feel like I’m constantly in motion!
Tampon subscription is genius
